The HOPP

Our association has been involved in non-formal education of children and youth in the field of health education for many years. Since our foundation in 2012, we have implemented many international projects: youth exchanges, training sessions and seminars, including Erasmus+.

As our greatest success we consider the development of innovative tools for youth health education: START NOW!. In the frame of the Erasmus + KA2 Program, for two years we have created 20 modern lesson modules, based on non-formal methods. We have implemented this project in partnership with organizations from Cyprus and Bulgaria. If You are interested please visit the page with lesson modules: www.startnow-learning.eu

We owe the place we are now to, above mentioned, START NOW! After two years, we decided to return to the modules, introducing further innovations in health education and expanding our cooperation with partners from Norway.

The headquarter of our association is in Opole, with which we have been associated from the very beginning. In the city, we carried out youth exchanges with Opole’s partner cities: Potsdam and Ivano-Frankivsk, and we met together with other partners, experts and local community, at conferences and seminars of our other projects.

Health education, however, is not the exclusive area of our activities. Together with our partner from Cyprus we have implemented a project in the field of counteracting sexual violence among young people. The results of which you can see at www.reactactprevent.com.

What are our goals?

We aim to:

  • improve the health competences of young people,
  • popularize the principles of “child welfare education” in Poland,
  • educate non-formally
  • networking & exchanging experiences

The project focuses on the health of young people and is based on the previous experience of our organizations. The main area of activity is the development of innovative educational tools for public health. Based on already developed START NOW! lessons modules, we will further develop and disseminate them to new groups of beneficiaries.

The second overarching goal is to promote the principles of “child welfare education” in Poland, based on the exchange of good practices with a Norwegian partner.

Is that all?

Of course not. Our activities, and above all the topics raised and educational materials created (modular lessons) will pursue various smaller, but no less important goals:

  • education on sustainable development,
  • promotion of equal opportunities for men and women,
  • incorporating new technologies in youth education,
  • development of pedagogical innovations.

For whom?

The final recipients will be above all, young people. We will reach them through education of teachers and youth workers. The developed quality standards will have a positive impact on children and young people through educational organizations and institutions, implementing them.

What is our project about?

It is about youth health education. Together with our partners from Norway, we will develop innovative tools for public health education.

However, we don’t start from the ground. Our base is already developed. Those are the lesson modules that we have created as part of the previous START NOW! project in 2018. Now we have planned a number of innovations and improvements in the modules, that you may already know (if not, please visit: www.startnow-learning.eu).

Primarily:

  • we will develop separate language versions of modules in Polish and Norwegian,
  • we will further facilitate the navigation and use of lessons by educators,
  • we will adapt the modules to the school education format,
  • we will implement advanced IT solutions (which we will talk about soon).

There is something else …

Thanks to our Norwegian partners, we will prepare a comprehensive “child welfare education” promotion program and teach about the safety of children and young people in education. Scandinavians are far ahead in this regard, and we are going to significantly shorten this distance and work on the psychological comfort of kids at school and outside.
